The Queen and Her Three Heirs.
Always nice to be asked back! The first time I shot this group I had 18 months to prepare, this time just 4 days. Quite handy that The King’s Speech had been on the telly the week before which was a good reminder to say ‘Ma’am as in ham not Ma’am as in palm’.
It’s a great experience, I particularly enjoy the disbelieving looks on the policemen’s faces when I drive up to the gates of the Palace. Always careful to say ‘I’m here to photograph the Queen’, rather than ‘here to shoot Her’.
HM and her heirs appear in the Throne Room right on cue and quickly assemble as I direct them. A couple of tests to double check focus, a joke from a Christmas cracker and it’s done. Always good to work with professionals.
